Under Your Wing

The shadow descends over her at a moment's notice, blocking out the sun and the summer heat. However, Lillie welcomes the sudden chill with open arms, her finger no doubt soon poised to trace the familiar crescent wing for the Polaris.

I know Lillie should probably be in her "Z-powered form" in this artwork, but I personally prefer her first design...well, in any case - oh my gosh, the shading and highlights were such a pain with this one. I don't know...lately, I've had a ton of trouble coming up with colour schemes and shading that would create that particular atmosphere I'm looking for. In fact, I'm having the exact same problem with my current work-in-progress piece as well...I just don't know how to shade it! Dx

By the way, I'm starting another summer course tomorrow, so I doubt I'll be uploading art for awhile. Just thought I'd let you know!

EDIT: For some reason, this artwork looks way too saturated on mobile...or is it my computer monitor that has it all wrong? What do you think?
